life

I am struck by the exhausting need for water that thousands are experiencing in the South. The word is that people are dying every minute from the lack. Liquid of life, only steps away the surrounding water is contaminated and toxic.

I can't help feeling some relief at seeing Humvees leaving wakes on what passes for streets in New Orleans. Streets where humans are now taking lives as well. Hummers belong where they're needed -- in service not cruising suburban streets.

Once called evacuees, thousands of refugees have landed and wait with no clear future in sight. Many still wait for rescue. And yet more wander as if in a dream...a nightmare. Slow moments must weigh heavily on them all while we who watch this unfolding on CNN must be the hope keepers.

Find ways to help.
